Etch is compendium app based on the Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition: The Renaissance of Etching. After designing flat images using Adobe Illustrator, I animated the final product as an easy to use app using Adobe After Effects. Etch allows the user to explore the origins, techniques, development, and notable artists correlated with Renaissance era etchings and engravings.

I was inspired by a recent trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, located in New York City. On display was The Renaissance of Etching— an exhibition overviewing the history of printmaking and the pioneers of this historical art movement. I decided to purchase the exhibition book, as the etching style has always interested me. The material shown in my app, Etch, is compiled from thorough research gathered from this exhibition book.
